Smart Fish Productions continues their collaboration with Fascia Training Academy

Fascia Training Academy engaged Smart Fish Productions to document the 6th International Fascia Research Congress in Montreal, Quebec. Our film and editing crew directed and produced video content from the event including interviews between Bill Parisi, board member of the Fascia Research Society and top researchers and thought leaders of the Fascia community. 

Fascia Research Society hosted the 6th International Fascia Research Congress held in Montreal, Quebec September 10-14, 2022. This event has been held every three years since 2007 with the last event taking place in 2018 in Berlin. 

Tom Myers, one of the founding members of the Fascia Research Society, gives us an introduction into how the Fascia Research Congress came to be.

Bill Parisi gives us a glimpse into the conversations taking place during the FRC 2022 Gala Dinner Cruise. 

The Big Unveiling 

This year at the 6th International Fascia Research Congress, there was a special unveiling of the world’s first full body human fascial focused plastinate. FR:EIA (Fascia Revealed: Educating Interconnected Anatomy) made her North American debut at the conference and was created through a unique first-of-its-kind dissection and preservation process conducted by the Fascial Net Plastination Project. The FNPP is a collaboration of the Fascia Research Society, Somatics Academy, the Plastinarium, and Body Worlds.  FR:EIA can be seen at the Berlin Body Worlds as a permanent exhibit for the next 5 years.

Gary Carter, lead dissectionist, discusses with Bill Parisi how this project came to be and how in 6 months, he and the 14 members of his team made the world’s first full human fascial plastinate possible.

Graham Whiteside, Owner and Founder of Anatomic Excellence, shares the process of plastination and how the form and pose of FR:EIA came to be.
