2021 Accomplishments: Anatomy of Speed
It’s been an exciting year for Smart Fish Productions! Our team handled production direction and assisted Bill Parisi of Parisi Speed School in development of the book The Anatomy of Speed – which was released in October 2021 by Human Kinetics publishing.
The 250 page book delves deeply into the mechanisms of athletic speed through in-depth interviews with top experts and researchers in the field. It converts the latest science into practical application, presented along with more than 100 color images with anatomical overlays and clear programming menus for training different types of speed (acceleration, max velocity, agility etc.).
Our Involvement
Over the course of the year we’ve been heavily involved in many aspects of the production of the Anatomy of Speed book. In addition to overseeing content development for the 85,000 word book, we assisted with conducting expert interviews, doing background research, copy editing and art development.
Smart Fish directed the multi-day photo shoot to create the art for the book.
Our team conceptualized and developed graphic illustrations for the coaching cues mentioned in the book.
We wrote and directed promotional videos for the book’s release and developed promotional/marketing copy in collaboration with Human Kinetics.
We also wrote, directed and produced a national speaking tour presentation by the author done in support of the book.
And finally, we wrote, directed and produced the visuals and script for the upcoming live presentation of the book by author Bill Parisi. The live presentation features subject matter experts which will be live streamed January 15th, 2022 and filmed with a three camera team.
